This weekend’s results have seen things tighten at the top of the league table. Real Madrid’s comfortable win over Eibar coupled with Barça’s draw in Seville has seen the gap between both teams reduced to just two points. Seven rounds of fixtures remain with an exciting run-in guaranteed.
Each team’s dynamic has changed over the course of the season. Real Madrid have all their players fit again and Barça have had lost some of the ruthlessness they displayed up to and including their last Clasico. Despite this, the Catalan team are still favourites to win the league trophy at the end of the season but since this weekend, the odds have shortened for a Madrid title.
A Barça league win now pays out 1,36 (for every euro placed) with Bet365, 1,44 at William Hill and 1,37 with 888sport. Meanwhile a Real Madrid league win pays out 3,00, 2,62, 3,00 euro in each respective bookmaker. Both clubs have a similar run in with Madrid having to face Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan and a tricky away tie awaits Barça against Atleti at the Calderón in the penultimate round of games. Sevilla.
An Atlético Madrid or a Valencia league title triumph is still not ruled out amongst the bookmakers either. Simeone’s team retaining their league crown pays out at 81/1 with a league triumph for Nuno’s, Valencia a longer shot at a price of 200/1.
