After having yesterday off, the Madrid team –with the exception of the Portuguese player’s Fabio Coentrao and Pepe, who didn’t participate on the Valdebebas training pitch – today began their preparation for the forthcoming game against Villarreal on Saturday.
The players were split into two groups and in a session, carefully watched by Ancelotti, participated in a work-out dominated by ball-work. At the same time, Keylor Navas – who made his league debut last Tuesday in the Elche game-, Iker Casillas and Fernando Pacheco worked apart with goalkeeping coach Villiam Vecchi.
During the session, Fabio Coentrao and Pepe, who is still suffering from hamstring strain, trained inside the Valdebebas complex. The club haven’t offered any reason surrounding the Coentrao’s absence who, immediately after Tuesdays game began to warm-down with the substitutes after the Elche match.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side go into the weekend’s game in fifth position with nine points, whilst Marcelino García’s, Villarreal team are seventh with a point less than Madrid.
