Germany national team manager Joachim Löw has dampened expectations surrounding the meeting of the current World champions and Spain, the 2010 victors, by suggesting he will field a B team for the friendly match in Vigo on November 18 due to the accumulated fatigue many of his players are experiencing.
"It's a friendly and so we are thinking of giving some of our players a rest," Löw said in comments made to German sports daily Kicker.
Among those players likely to be given the night off in Galicia ply their trades for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and others in foreign leagues such as Mesut Özil and Toni Kroos.
Bayern coach Pep Guardiola and sporting director Matthias Sammer have both voiced their objections to the strains of the international calendar in recent weeks, as had Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp.
Löw is expected to name his squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Poland in Warsaw (October 11) and Ireland in Gelsenkirchen (October 14) next week.
