Tebas on a homage to Messi at the Bernabéu: "Why not?"

“Why not?”, said Javier Tebas on Tuesday in Barcelona when he was asked if the LFP would pay homage to Messi when he passes the milestone of 251 goals scored by Telmo Zarra. “I am thinking of ideas but the homage has to be a tribute that lasts forever. We must never forget it in La Liga, it should always stay with us. If the time comes and he beats the record we will have to reflect upon it because it will be an historic moment.”

Messi could pass the record of Zarra against Eibar in Barça’s next match, he is only two goals shy. Interestingly, the Argentine could crush the record in the Clásico at the Bernabéu, which would enhance his achievement.
