Xavi: "What Iker said was correct, there was a tense talk"

Xavi Hernández spoke this afternoon at the opening of a pitch that bears his name and is sponsored by the Johan Cruyff Foundation. Xavi, who regained his starting role in Vallecas but has not had many minutes so far this season, admitted that the confession Casillas made in the interview with Iñaki Gabilondo on Monday was true. “I had a tense conversation with Iker. It was with Vicente del Bosque and Puyol. It was tense but it was good for Spanish football. What Iker said is right.” The Barça midfielder also spoke about more issues.

His participation this season. “I work hard to be involved, to be important to the team. I’m happy, I’m enjoying it.”

Cruyff. “I’m a student of the school of Barça, I’m a student of the school of Cruyff. I’m proud of that. Without him, I would not be here.”
