Agreement between Juan Ignacio Martínez and Almería

Almería have reached an agreement with Juan Ignacio Martínez (JIM), who will become the new coach of the Andalusian club. JIM has been without a club since leaving Real Valladolid last season. Miguel Rivera, who was in charge of Almería’s reserves, will sit on the bench for the match against Real Madrid on Friday night.

Francisco, the club’s former coach, was axed on Monday after the heavy defeat the team suffered at Ipurua against Eibar. Since then, several names have been linked with the managerial post. Pepe Mel, Diego Martín Cocca and Miguel Ángel Lotina were among those, alongside JIM, who were sounded out for the position.
