Carlo Ancelotti spoke about his side’s 3-0 victory against Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu in the post-match press conference. He focused on two things, the injury to James and the form of Cristiano, who scored another hat-trick.
The game: “The entire team's defensive work was very important. They worked well together and it was a good game because we played against a team that really push you, they are aggressive and play well. We can assess the match positively because we played well, we were solid at the back, quick and did not take risks.”
James: “James has an injury to his calf muscle and we are going to assess it over the next few days. We can cover for him, Isco and Khedira will return.”
Cristiano: “There is nothing wrong with Cristiano, he was just taken off so he could have a little rest.”
Illarramendi: “Illarramendi played really well in both areas of the game, that is to say, both going forward and defending, and he did so with real character.”
Fitness problems?: “I don't see any tiredness issues amongst the team and I didn't see any problems out there today.”
Cristiano: “It is a real advantage to have Cristiano playing in our team. He is extraordinarily motive at the moment and he is at peak physical condition.”
