Sergio: "To win in the Camp Nou would be a huge boost"

- No player in the squad has won in the league at the Camp Nou. Could they have stage fright?

No, they won’t have stage fright. It is a difficult place to go and they have a team that will make things difficult but nothing is impossible. The team have looked very good this week. They are very lively and it should make for a good match.

- This week:

We have looked to see where we can hurt Barça, we have been looking for a solution. It is a game where we have to step things up and show that we want to be a good team.

- You won at Levante and also in the cup against Alavés. Is everything relaxed?

When you go into a game after a relaxed week and good results you feel comfortable and better prepared. We will see if we can be better than them on the day.

- How can you win?

There should be a competitive team going out there and who will go out there knowing what we have to do. We need to play with character, confidence and do what we do well.

- You’re going up against a team that cost a lot of money. What is the antidote?

Every game is a new war. As a squad our background is not comparative but we will go out there with confidence. Playing away from home makes things tougher but in football anything can happen. Surprises are common during the course of the season and hopefully we can provide one of them.

- The derby:

All the players know how important this game is to the fans. The players will play with the desire to win and play well because they know the joy they would give to the fans with a great victory.

- Relationship with Luis Enrique:

My relationship with Luis is very good. As a person I have always had a very friendly relationship with him. In the World Cup in South Korea he came and helped me the most. At a sporting level he has proven himself as a coach and I wish him luck, but not in our game.

- The difference in playing a derby match:

As a player you need to try and play without the stress of a derby match. The feeling and the will to win are still the same but you’re a bit more nervous in the technical area.

- The derby week:

You see the amount of media interest and the significance of it all. You have family and friends who are always talking about it so you can see the importance. The players know the value of the game and they have a big desire to do well.

- The same team as against Levante?

The Levante game was very important. The team responded well and that’s why I have named the same squad. If the team plays well the vast majority will get the chance again because they will have deserved it.
