Dubai’s Milan vs. Real Madrid friendly is a sell-out

Madrid and Milan face each other next Tuesday in the Dubai Challenge Cup. The game has generated massive local interest with all 40.000 available tickets for the match at The Sevens Stadium selling out over a month ago.

The organizers chose The Sevens Stadium with its 40.000 capacity knowing the potential interest in the match with the current Champions League holders being involved and demand surpasses the 2009 game between Milan and Hamburg where only 28.000 tickets were sold.

Tuesday’s friendly surpasses other five star events that The Sevens has staged in the past few years with 18.000 tickets being sold for a Rod Stewart concert in 2010 and 15.000 fans turning up to see Canadian pop star, Justin Bieber last year. It’s expected that Madrid fans from Saudi, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar will be present in Dubai on Tuesday and specialist ticket re-sell agencies are now charging over four times the original face value for a ticket to the game.
