The 32 remaining teams in this year’s Europa League will know their fate later today after the draw which takes place in Nyon at 1300 (CET). Sevilla and Villarreal both qualified as second placed teams in their respective groups and are joined by Athletic, who will be in the seeded teams pot as they were one of the better third place clubs in their Champions League groups. Inter, Napoli and Fiorentina are the teams that Sevilla and Villarreal will be keen to avoid whilst Athletic will hope they can avoid a tie against the likes of Roma, Tottenham and Liverpool.
Pot 1 features the seeded teams which are composed of the 12 clubs who finished top of their group stage alongside the four best third place teams from the champions League group stage (Olympiakos, Sporting, Athletic and Zenit). Pot 2 features the remaining Champions League third placed teams (Liverpool, Roma, Ajax and Anderlecht) with the second placed teams from the qualifying group stages. The round of 32 games are scheduled to be played on February 19th with the return leg on February 26th. Teams from the same countries or who featured in the same qualifying group can’t face each other. Sevilla and Villarreal will both play their return legs away from home whilst seeded Athletic Club will play their game on the 26th at home in San Mamés:
Pot 1 (seeded teams): B. Moenchengladbach, Bruges, Besiktas, Dynamo Moscow, Feyenoord, Everton, Inter, Salzburg, Napoli, Dynamo Kiev, Fiorentina, Legia Warsaw, Athletic, Zenit, Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos.
