Madrid are trying to maintain the club policy of signing young talent before they break-through and their prices rocket. This was the recent case with Marco Asensio (the club paying 3,9 million euro to Mallorca for his signature) and the next in line may be CD Tenerife goalkeeper, Carlos Abad Hernández Trujillo. Madrid’s scouting team have submitted glowing reports of the young goalkeeper who is being cited as a future replacement for Iker Casillas in certain circles. Abad is 19 years old, is 1,93 tall and is reminiscent of Courtois, with his technical ability and style.
He has an amateur contract with Tenerife and this expires in 2016, with the possibility of a year add-on. He could be sold for the price of his retention clause of 3 million euro. At the same time Tenerife are keen to make him a better offer and give him a professional contract and this could see his buy-out clause increase from anything to, between 6 and 10 million euro. Abad’s performances have not gone unnoticed with other major European teams showing interest in the young talent with a confirmed offer from a leading English Premier League expected to arrive in the club offices in the near future. Carlos Abad however, has stated his preference in a potential move to the Spanish capital over a move to England
