"We’ve spoken to Madrid ten times now about Lucas Silva"

The ongoing negotiations between Real Madrid and Cruzeiro for Lucas Silva seem to have ended in stalemate over the past few days despite the sporting director, Alexandre Mattos of the Brazilian club confirming that both parties have met up on numerous occasions.

“We’ve held four formal meetings to discuss the future of Lucas Silva but I’ve spoken with Real Madrid representatives over ten times. In principal they are not intending to bring any players in during the winter transfer window and we have no urgency to sell Lucas”, confirmed Mattos to Radio Itatiaia.

What does appear clear is that if Lucas Silva does move to the Spanish capital it will be in the summer of 2015. Whats more, Florentino Pérez confirmed that the club would only sign in the winter window if it had to cover a long term injury.

Apparently Madrid have confirmed two offers to Cruizero for the services of the midfielder. The first being a sum of 12 million and the second increasing, but falling short of the 15 million that the Brazilian champions are insisting on as a fee.

At the same time Cruizero are planning their 2015 season and the arrivals of both Leandro Damiao and Paulinho look likely. The current Spurs player is expected to come in on loan although nothing is official as yet. “Paulinho may come in on loan, his agent is looking at Brazilian teams and his first choice will probably be Cruzeiro”, added Mattos.
