Van Gaal: "I’ll talk to my director about Bale, not to the press"

Louis van Gaal, Manchester United, coach didn’t deny interest that his club may have for Gareth Bale, but neither wanted to be drawn on the matter during his press conference before the Red Devils home game on December 26th against Newcastle United.

Under a barrage of questions from the assembled press over the matter, the Dutch coach said: “This is certainly not something I’d discuss with you lot. These matters are discussed with my executive director (Ed Woodward)in private, and not with the media”.

This was a similar answer to the question surrounding De Gea’s contract renewal some days ago when asked by the press, after speculation arose that a possible move to Madrid could arise. Manchester United are thought to be considering offering in excess of 150 million euro for the Welshman. An AS.com online poll revealed that 53% of those polled would approve this possible move.
