Agreement reached: Valdés to join United until June 2016

Víctor Valdéshas reached an agreement with Manchester United and will sign a one-and-a-half year contract with the ‘Red Devils’, who are managed by Louis van Gaal. The former Barcelona goalkeeper, who will be David de Gea’s team-mate, has passed various medical tests and has finally reached an agreement with the English club.

Valdés suffered a serious knee injury last March in a match against Celta Vigo. The goalkeeper ended his contract with Barça last June and was discarded by Monaco, having previously reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 club. Now he has been signed by a historic club that he previously frustrated in two Champions League finals (in 2009 in Rome and at Wembley two years afterwards).
