Granada coach Joaquín Caparrós believes that Sunday’s opponents Real Sociedad deserve to occupy a higher place in the league standings and hopes that his side “have luck on their side” when the two teams meet at Los Nuevos Cármenes on Sunday night.
“Real Sociedad have brought in a new coach and he is getting them points. They are a side which has a lot of quality – both individually and collectively and the position they are in doesn’t reflect their quality,” the coach said in Friday’s pre-match press conference.
As for his team, who are second from bottom, Caparrós is hopeful they can stave off relegation. “There are still a lot of games to play but losing tomorrow would be another blow. It’s important to break the negative run we’ve been in and enter a more positive dynamic,” he explained. “I hope the lads put in a good game and that luck is on their side on Sunday; let’s hope this one goes our way for once”.
