Braida: "I will bring the culture of having worked at a big club"

Barcelona issued a statement on their official website on Thursday to report the presentation of Carlos Rexach and Ariedo Braida as part of the Football Area Technical Commission, in charge with planning next season. Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barça president, was delighted with the team put in place. "I am very happy, because today Carles Rexach and Ariedo Braida have agreed to form part of the committee.I am thrilled to have two people like them, who have great experience in the world of football. The commission has the clear working goal of planning for next season. Rexach is an expert in Barcelona first-team football, from the first team to Barca B and youth football.Braida is a professional who knows perfectly the world of football. He has worked for many years and has experience that will bring us a lot. All work together with Jordi Mestre and Javier Bordas to plan the season."

Braida was happy: "Joining the club is fantastic. I am at the world's biggest club. There is no club like it in Europe. If you don't have the culture of working in a big club, you can't work at Barça, and I can bring this culture. In addition, we can make a great team with Charly."

Ariedo Braida was born in 1946 in Precenicco (Italy). After his playing days with a number of teams in Italy, Braida worked for most of his life at Milan (1986-2013) as sporting director, although he was at Sampdoria last season. He was one of the main architects of the successful Milan side of Arrigo Sacchi.

Carlos Rexach said: “The commission is the best thing that could have been done. The club should have information and we should all seek the best for the club. Braida has many contacts, experience and knows what it is to work at a big club.”
