Official: Modric diagnosed with knee ligament damage

Luka Modric underwent tests this morning at the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja and the outcome confirmed the early indications. The midfielder is suffering from a medial collateral ligament sprain on his right knee and will be out of action for approximately six weeks.

The official communique from the club on their website this morning confirmed the medical verdict:: “After tests carried out this morning on Luka Modric at the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja by the club’s medical services, the diagnostic confirms that the player has a sprain on the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Both the Croatian player along with Welshman, Gareth Bale retired from the Malaga game through injury. Bale will undergo tests tomorrow at the same hospital.
