Las Rozas local council has paid tribute to the late Spain coach Luis Aragonés, who passed away in February, by naming the square which leads up to the Spanish Football Federation headquarters in Las Rozas, Madrid in his memory. It was here at the Ciudad de Fútbol that Luis Aragonés masterminded the most successful period in the history of the national side between 2004 and 2008.
‘La Plaza de Luis Aragonés’ was officially inaugurated by Las Rozas mayor José Ignacio Fernández Rubio. In attendance were Luis Aragonés’ five children and 11 grandchildren who were joined by players from the Spain senior side and representatives of the RFEF.
