“I am very proud to be here, where I grew up, where I have my roots and my family. These moments help push me to want to keep playing and keep winning. I’m very happy, this is very important to me. It is a privilege to receive this medal, I have no words,” said Cristiano Ronaldo in Legal Assembly of Madeira.
Cristiano looked back at the year and spoke about his hopes for 2015: “I hope that 2015 will be just as good as 2014 and we can win everything we have won this year. Especially the Champions League.”
“Talking is not my forte, I am better playing football, you know. But this is an historic moment that will have a special place in my life. It gives me motivation to move forward. Thank you to everyone who has helped me achieve something special,” the Madeira-born player said at a ceremony attended by Bruno de Carvalho, president of Sporting Lisbon, his former club.
