"If Ancelotti needs him he will be able to count on him"

Emilio Butragueño oversaw Martin Odegaard's first Real Madrid experience on Thursday and the director of International relations welcomed the Norwegian prospect to the club: "He is an extraordinary talent and we have huge hopes for him."

Welcome speech: "Dear Martin: we are going to everything possible so that you and your family will be happy here in Madrid and to allow you to develop your fabulous talent. Many successes await you at Real Madrid and we wish you all the best. Good luck."

Plans: "He will train with the first team and with Castilla. In principle, he will play for Castilla and if Carlo Ancelotti needs him he will be able to count on him, of course. He will be with the first team during pre-season and from there, we will decide."

Odegaard Sr.: "He was a player and now he is a very qualified coach. He will be join the technical structure of the club with the youth teams."

Barcelona's attempt to sign Odegaard: "The most important thing is that Martin is here with us. We are very excited about his future and we want his talent to develop here so that the fans can enjoy watching him. That is what matters most to us."
