Suárez's strike rate at Barça stands at 0.31 goals per game

Luis Suárez has not yet found his scoring boots at Barcelona and although he enjoys the backing of his coach and the fans at Camp Nou the Uruguayan's statistics defy his career to date in terms of his percentages and his transfer fee of 80 million euros.

With the first half of the season completed, Suárez has scored five goals in the 16 matches he has played at a rate of 0.31 goals per game; two in La Liga, two in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey. Suárez's strike rate stands at a goal every 3.2 matches, or 262 minutes per score. For every seven shots the forward has taken, one has gone in.

In the league he has played 11 games (876 minutes) and scored twice, both from inside the area. In total he has had 24 shots, with 10 on target and 14 missing the mark.

In the Champions League Suárez has played 257 minutes and scored twice from six shots on target of eight.

In the Copa, where he missed a glorious chance against Atlético on Wednesday he has played 180 minutes and scored once, against Elche at Camp Nou.

Suárez's colleagues in attack have recorded more impressive statistics: Leo Messi has 29 goals and 14 assists in 27 games and Neymar 17 and five from 23 appearances. Luis Enrique has defended Suárez's performances on the basis of the effort he puts in and his assist rate (nine). However, the Uruguayan's record at Anfield last season stands at 31 goals and 24 assists in 37 games, a goal every 105 minutes with a strike rate of 0.83 goals a game.
