Another comeback: Levante convert Orriols into a fortress

The Valencia area of Orriols is bombproof. Levante play with the health of their home area in every game and with a happy ending, everything is fine. The Frogs, as Levante are affectionately known, are out of the relegation zone. With it, they leave Eibar in serious trouble. The Basques have now lost seven games in a row and next week they visit Barça. It was another comeback for Levante. There was much suffering, for both sides. This time it was Uche who provided the miracle to finish off a loose ball after several ricochets.

The teams were trapped between fear and respect for the first 45 minutes. There was too much tension in the air. There were too many risks to run and little security in the legs and in the heat. Proof of this was how little work there was for the goalkeepers. Nothing expect a couple of tame shots from the hosts towards Jaime in the Eibar goal.

It was nothing like the second half. Eibar came out buzzing and an error from Simao let the visitors in but Mariño made a great double save for the hosts. The goal was not far off, however, and it was a superb Saúl volley that fired the visitors ahead as the home defence could only watch on. Mariño could do little to keep it out. More heroics were forthcoming in Orriols, however. David Barral started things off, as usual, after good work by El Zhar. The rest, you know. Uche came up with the winner to give Levante a big three points.
