Lucas Silva and Rafinha called up to Brazil Olympic squad

Brazil’s Olympic coach Alexandre Gallo has called Real Madrid’s Lucas Silva and Barcelona’s Rafinha into his squad for this month’s friendly matches against Paraguay and Mexico.


The squad will also feature striker Felipe Anderon, of Italian club Lazio, and Talisca, the current sensation at Benfica.


Brazil will play against Paraguay’s Olympic team on March 27 in the Brazilian city of Vitoria and two days later will face Mexico in Sao Luis.


The team, who have already qualified for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 thanks to being host country, will try and win the gold medal on home soil.


The 23-man squad:


Goalkeepers: David (Criciúma), Jacsson (Internacional) and Jean (Bahía).


Defenders: Cláudio Winck (Internacional), Douglas Santos (Atlético Mineiro), Maicon (Livorno/ITA), Wendell (Bayer Leverkusen, ALE), Dória (Sao Paulo), Luan (Vasco da Gama), Rodrigo Ely (Avellino/ITA) and Wallace (Monaco/FRA).


Midfielders: Danilo (Braga/POR), Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk/UCR), Lucas Silva (Real Madrid/ESP), Rafael Alcántara (Barcelona/ESP), Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo) and Talisca (Benfica/POR).


Forwards: Alisson (Cruzeiro), Erik (Goiás), Felipe Anderson (Lazio/ITA), Marcos Guilherme (Atlético Paranaense), Vinicius Araújo (Standard de Lieja/BÉL) and Vitinho (Internacional).
