Atlético trained at Majadahonda on Sunday in preparation for Tuesday’s Liga match against Real Sociedad. The players who did not feature or who were second-half substitutes against Córdoba took to the training pitch. The good news for coach ‘Cholo’ Simeone was that he can count on Raúl García to return after he trained with the group. He was injured in the match against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and he may return to start on Tuesday night. A packed fixture schedule will lead to Simeone rotating his players this month.
Moyá, who was also injured in the Champions League clash at the Calderón, trained with the goalkeeping coach and is increasingly closer to a return, although Oblak has been doing well and is making it tricky for the Spaniard to win his starting role back.
The starters in the 2-0 win at Córdoba trained in the gym. Atlético will train on Monday morning with all thoughts on Tuesday night’s clash with La Real.
