90,77% of Madrid fans want Ancelotti to play 4-4-2

90’77% of the almost 7.000 participants in the poll feel that Carlo Ancelotti should adopt a 4-4-2 system and not the 4-3-3 line-up that the Italian coach tends to favour.

The 4-3-3 formation which means less defensive responsibility for Bale, Cristiano and Benzema has been strongly criticized after the heavy 4-0 defeat in the Calderón. The fans remember Munich and the Copa del Rey final when the 4-4-2 system was employed and the team performed well. Ancelotti insists that Madrid attack in a 4-3-3 formation and defend using 4-4-2 but it’s clear that in days when defensive duties are needed from the ‘BBC’, this system has its flaws.
