Costa Rica international Keylor Navas is “very happy” at Real Madrid despite being back-up to Iker Casillas in La Liga and the Champions League, according to Freddy Navas, the father of the goalkeeper. In recent days some websites suggested Navas was unhappy at Madrid and that he would leave. “Everything that has beensaid is a lie,” he told newspaper ‘La Nación’. “Keylor told me he does not want to leave Real Madrid. He is very happy, he is a fighter who wants to work and succeed at the club.”
The shot-stopper was signed by Madrid last year after his superb performances for Costa Rice at the World Cup in Brazil. Navas was a starter in the Copa del Rey but Madrid were knocked out of the competition by Atlético Madrid. “He knows he has to fight for a starting role,” the father of Navas continued. “It’s a process that he accepts. Some people, through the press, want to belittle him, but he is very strong.”
