Xavi returns to the starting XI against familiar foes

Xavi Hernández returned to the starting XI as Barcelona welcomed Valencia to Camp Nou on Saturday. It will be the midfielder’s 755^th appearance for Barça in official competition. Xavi made his league debut against Valencia at Mestalla on 3 October 1998; Louis van Gaal decided that the teenage midfielder was ready to be included in a starting line-up which featured current coach Luis Enrique. Claudio López put Valencia ahead but the Blaugranas responded with goals from Patrick Kluivert, Rivaldo and Anderson to win the game 3-1. The rest, as they say, is history.
