Toni Kroos: "I feel well and very happy at Real Madrid"

Toni Kroos, the Real Madrid player, was a prominent figure ahead of Germany’s forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifier against Georgia, which will take place on Sunday. The midfielder was chosen by the German Football Association (DFB) to speak to the media after he was elected as the national team’s Player of the Year, and he did not mince his words.

He said: “Those that know me a little bit better know that I am not like the flags in the wind. The Spanish press is very extreme: when you win a match, everything is good. And when you lose, everything is bad.”

The former Bayern Munich man also spoke about his physical state.

“There were plenty of matches, and I had no winter break,” he added. “Sometimes you can feel tired, as is normal, but you cannot say that now you are tired. I feel well and very happy at Real Madrid.”

He concluded by speaking about Germany’s match in Georgia: “We want to win, but playing like we know. If not, it will be complicated.”
