Guiseppe Bozzo, who acts as Álvaro Morata’s agent in Italy, claims that the striker won’t be coaxed back to Real Madrid if he doesn’t want to return. Bozzo told ‘Tuttosport’: “At this moment in time, he had a strong bond to Juventus. When we’re talking about a great player like Álvaro, he has the word, regardless of the buy-out clause. He’s happy at Juventus and he is not thinking about anything else”.
The player’s agent continued, “It all boils down to what the player wants – in the same way he decided to quit Madrid last year. Real Madrid didn’t want to sell him, then wanted to sell him to other clubs who were prepared to offer more money than Juventus…
“But Álvaro is very stubborn and is determined to have the final say. He showed how determined he is when he said that he wanted to join Juve, despite the pressure Madrid put him under. I know how gutsy and bold he can be,” Bozzo added.
“Just a few days ago, during an interview in Spain, he said that he is happy at Juve and he is not considering returning to Madrid as he wants to continue growing as a player in Turin. He also said that he would be willing to play for free to try to win the Champions League with Juventus, and that is exactly how he feels. He’s said the same thing to me. He’s a very headstrong young man, and is not afraid of anything. Juve is his obsession. He is also carving out a career with the national team and converting himself into an idol for Spanish people – not just those who follow Real Madrid.
“No club, not even a club as powerful as Real Madrid would be prepared to fork out so much money for a player who wants to stay where he is,” Bozzo insisted. “He’s in seventh heaven right now, and so is Juventus”.
A clause in Morata’s transfer to Juve last summer, an option for Madrid to buy the player back for 30 million euros on conclusion of this season and 35 million after the following season. Juve say that the buy-back clause is only effective for 2016 and 2017 respectively.
